Monto & Claudia Van der Merwe
Pastoral Couple
Pastor Monto van der Merwe is the Senior Pastor of Spirit Life Ministries, a new and very vibrant church in Uitenhage, South Africa. He is married to Claudia and they have two children, Meagan and Jared. When God called Pastor Monto and Claudia to plant Spirit Life Ministries, He impressed on their hearts that He wanted a church where His Holy Spirit is welcome and has free-reign to minister to His children and not just another religious institution. As they have been obedient in making sure that the Holy Spirit always has “space” to enter the worship and take control of the services, Spirit Life has been experiencing exactly what it’s name says – the manifestation of God’s Spirit in the meetings through signs, wonders and miracles! People are being set free and bondages are broken as they come under the anointing of God. They are experiencing awesome physical healings as God’s Glory Cloud enters their services.
Their Passion:
Their passion is Revival! Therefore the move of the Holy Spirit and the Manifested presence of God is of paramount importance to them.
Their Gifting:
God has gifted Pastor Monto to preach the Word with revelation knowledge and passion. He also moves very strongly in the Prophetic gifting. The gift of Healing strongly operates through Pastor Monto as well as through Claudia and they have seen amazing healings wherever they have ministered.
Their mission:
It is to bring the Lost to Christ. To equip the Believers for the work of the Ministry and to lead God's People in victorious living, through the Power of the Holy Spirit!

Laura came to Spirit Life
on the 2nd of May 2010
for the first time.
She was desperate for a miracle, because she was
in tremendous pain, due to a leg fracture that she sustained many years ago. The fracure just would not heal even after many years and Laura feared that she would loose her job, because she could no longer work the 12 hour shifts at the hospital, where she is employed.
She came expecting a MIRACLE!
As Pastor Monto laid hands on her and spoke a Creative Miracle into being, so that the bones in her leg would knit 100 percent, Laura was overcome with the PRESENCE of Jesus! Minutes afterwards, she started jumping on the injured leg! She shouted praise to God and started laughing and crying at the same time! Her leg was completely healed from that moment on! Hallelujah!
She is now a regular face at Spirit Life and testifies Sunday after Sunday to those around her, about her Awesome Miracle!
Jesus still heals today and it is NEVER too LATE...
The Ivory Coast Missions Trip
has come and gone...
But...
The Changed Lives will remain forever!
The Mission was a real success and was blessed beyond measure!
The Team returned safe, challenged and changed!
